Russian Course

Our Russian language course is designed to improve every aspect of your Russian. Each lesson has clear objectives that contribute to your overall progress and moves you closer to achieving your language goals across the four skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing.

Courses can be arranged on a one to one or group basis at a time which suits you.

On our Russian courses you will:

Level I

At the beginner level you will learn Russian words and expressions used in greetings, farewells, talking about yourself, requests, nature phenomena, etc. There is also basic information about different particularities of Russian grammar: gender, number, cases and verbs conjugation

The student will learn how to build simple sentences about hobby, leisure and sports in Russian. Grammar topics include the prepositional case, questions about location, questions with the prepositional case. You will be able to understand short simple texts built on familiar lexical and grammatical material. The student will have ability to understand the meaning of simple dialogue between two or more people. 

Level II

Now you will be able to communicate in a range of everyday social and travel contexts. By the end of this level you will be able to talk with confidence (go shopping, book a hotel room); make conversation; write and understand more complex written texts and understand a wider range of grammar and vocabulary. The learner will know and use introductory words in sentences, complex objects and some other grammar rules. In the dialogues you'll learn how to use Russian in everyday situations. The students should use a mix of complex sentence forms, though some errors in them are acceptable. You'll also learn more about the use of accusative and prepositional cases, the range of vocabulary is continuously developed. The learners now can understand some pieces of dialogues from TV programmes, read adopted literary works.


Level III

By the end of this level you will be able to speak Russian with more confidence. You will be able to have and maintain conversation on various everyday topics, moreover, support discussions on some scientific news, to develop counterarguments and defend own points of view with more confidence.

You will be able to write and understand complex written texts; make notes and understand meaning of lectures, meetings, local TV programmes and extract basic information from a written document.

Now, the student is able to read modern non-fiction and pulp-fiction books, then retell a main plot to partners.

The learner also can take part in extended conversations; write and understand your own little texts, including writing essays; understand most of TV programmes, popular songs, presentation or lectures, but not those which have technical or theoretical information.                                                                                                                             

The learner also acquire knowledge of the most well-known idiomatic phrases in modern Russian speaking and use it in proper situations in order to sound better.
